By Les Hart – Club Secretary
Following Monday night’s Wilmslow Cricket Club committee meeting, which once again was held via ZOOM, the 2020 committee made a unanimous decision it believed in the best interests of the Club, to postpone the 2021 AGM, due to be held on Friday 15th January 2021.
With the return of recreational cricket looking many months away and more pressing concerns such as the national lockdown & vaccination programmes at the forefront of people’s minds, the committee made the decision to delay the AGM by 6 months to ensure continued stability for Wilmslow’s local cricket club ahead of the hopeful up-coming season.
Several senior members of the committee had previously indicated their desire to step down at the AGM from their roles and the club would like to thank the current committee members for agreeing to remain in position for an additional 6 months to help guide the club through these unprecedented times. This postponement will also now help us plan a transition to a new committee and therefore the club would be interested in hearing from any member who would like to join a ‘rejuvenated’ future Committee by taking on a specific role. More information about the roles available can be obtained from the Secretary by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
More information, including the new date of the AGM and the launch of our 2021 Social Membership scheme, #SquirrelRewards, will be revealed in the coming weeks.
