Following last week’s win, the Squirrels made the trip to Langley with high hopes, hoping to build on an impressive win. Having finally won a toss Toby chose to bat on another scorcher of a day, and a good batting wicket.
The toss however would be the only thing that Wilmslow would win. A very poor batting display as the squirrels were bowled out for 78 in just 23.3 overs. Ganesh top scored with 17, whilst G and Elan both made it to 10 before they fell. Credit must go to Muhammad Faisal who picked up 6-32 off 11 overs, removing 6 of the top 7 with none of the Wilmslow batsman getting to grips with him.
In reply, Langley reached their target in just 7 overs. Robin Smith hit 60 off just 19 balls at an incredible strike rate of 315.79. Wilmslow did pick up a wicket thanks to Shiva, with Oli taking the catch. But overall, a dreadful day at the office for Wilmslow.
Next week the Squirrels return to Rectory Fields, as they host top of the table Over Peover.
